How the planner works

The planner arranges dates. It does not decide whether a treatment or a flight is safe for you.

Two ways to plan

I know my treatment dates

You enter your arrival and departure dates, each treatment and its date, and, if you have them, follow-up or stitch-removal dates and the date from which your clinic says you may fly. The planner builds a day-by-day table and checks for conflicts, such as a clinic date after your departure.

The “earliest return-flight candidate” is simply the day after your latest clinic date. It appears only if you entered a clinic date. If you did not, the planner does not guess; it lists questions to ask your clinic.

I have a date to plan around

You enter the date of a flight home, an event or a meeting and choose the treatments you are considering. For each, the planner takes the longest duration that published guidance reports for visible effects and counts back from your date. That gives a conservative date to treat by. A shorter reported duration is shown for comparison, with a note that effects may still show.

These dates are not clearance to treat or to fly. They show how far back published guidance reports effects in some people. Your clinic knows your treatment and decides.

Where the numbers come from

  • Patient guidance from medical societies and public bodies, and abstracts of published studies. We do not use clinic or manufacturer marketing pages as evidence.
  • Each number carries its source and the date we checked it. See Sources and last checked.
  • When sources disagree, the planner uses the longest reported duration for planning and the sources page lists both.
  • When no source gives a number, the planner shows none. It does not fill gaps from memory or from clinic websites.

What the planner does not do

  • It does not say when it is safe to fly. Published guidance rarely gives a flight date, and clearance depends on the treatment, the clinic and you.
  • It does not recommend, rank or book clinics, and it does not show prices.
  • It does not replace your clinic’s written instructions.

Your data

Calculations run in your browser. Your dates are not sent to or stored on our server. The “copy link” button puts your inputs in the link itself, after the # sign, which browsers do not send to the server. Anyone you share the link with can read the dates in it.

Corrections

If you find a wrong or outdated figure, tell us through the contact page. We correct the data file and update the date on the sources page.
